Mary Roseann Lewenetz, 83, of Port Huron, died Monday, January 22, 2018.

She was born September 19, 1934 in Emmett, to the late Daniel and Euphemia Collins. She married Ed Lewenetz and he preceded her in death.

Mary attended elementary school at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School in Emmet and graduated from St. Augustine High School in Richmond in 1952.

She worked as a bartender in the area, most recently at the Charles A. Hammond American Legion Post 8 and Charles Schoor VFW Post No. 796.

She is survived by her two children, Sheilah Fleckenstein and Terry Fleckenstein; special cousin, Yvonne Manley; special nieces and nephews, Donna Hebel, Trina and Dan Collins, Gary Collins, Bob Hebel; many other nieces and nephews; and special friend, Diane Fisher. She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim (Jo) Collins, Grant (Ruth) Collins, Jerry (Mary) Collins, Pat (Del) Collins and Joseph Collins; three sisters, Eleanor (Ray) Shafer, Catherine (Joseph) O'Grady and Margaret (Bob) Hebel.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mrs. Lewenetz will lie in state at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church on Friday, January 26, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. The Very Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo K.H.S., will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
