Mary Ella Urban, 94, passed peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2018.

She was born June 6, 1923 in Emmett to the late John and Nellie Brandon.

Mary attended Memphis High School and graduated from Port Huron Business College. She was employed at Dow Chemical Company during World War II where she met her husband, Joseph L. Urban. They were married October 7, 1944 in Emmett by Mary's cousin, the Reverend Leo Healy.

She enjoyed bingo, cards, traveling and cooking. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Mary Peterson, Joseph Urban, and Debra Urban; grandchildren, Lisa Peterson, Christine (Gary) Hillger and William Jefferson; great grandchild, Christopher Desmet and sister-in-law, Gloria Urban. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; sisters, Madelyn (Ray) Walters, Anna Elsie (Richard) Seefried; and brother, Joseph Brandon.

Visitation will be from 4-9 pm Tuesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm.

Mary will lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Father Salvatore Palazzolo, KHS will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church.
