Condolence & Memory Journal

I had the honor of working with Marilyn at the Port Huron Museum. She was always joyful and took her many groups and tasks very seriously, but with a smile and a wink.
She is now at peace and I wish the same for all those special people that she left behind. I'm glad I knew her.

I am sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. I will always remember our days at the Museum. She was so dedicated and faithful to her job and also the Geneology group. She will be missed. I am glad to have known her. Kristi Hazard

Marilyn will be sadly missed. She belonged to so many organizations. She not only belonged, but
worked hard at all organizations.

Marilyn was a special friend for many years through our mutual love of family history. We were both active in the Michigan Genealogical Council and became closer during Diana's illness as the three of us shared valuable time together.
Her dedication to the St. Clair County Family History Group and the Port Huron Museum went above and beyond expectations as she served in many capacities, even when facing several health challenges. I shall miss her - and her hugs when we met. May she rest in peace with her beloved Ford and Diana. My deepest sympathies to her family.

Marilyn and her husband co-founded the Huron County Genealogical Society in 1982. I joined the HCGS in 2003. I remember riding with Marilyn and her daughter Diana, to go to different libraries for genealogy research trips.
The HCGS disbanded in 2008 after Diana started battling cancer.
I re-started the HCGS in 2012, and granted Marilyn a lifetime membership to the HCGS. When I had seen her at The Michigan Genealogical Council in Nov. 2017
she said she loves getting the HCGS newsletters (which I mail to her).
I will miss Marilyn.

So sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. She was a special friend for many years when she was active in the Michigan Genealogical Council. We looked forward to seeing each other when she was able to get a ride there in the past few years. My condolences to all the family, I only got to know the late Diana and Marilyn and met Ford a couple times. They are now together in the heavenly home and they will spend their time with our Lord and each other. May they all rest in peace. May their memory live on in each of you. Barb

On behalf of the Michigan Genealogical Council (MGC), we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Marilyn's family and friends.

Marilyn served as the President of MGC from 2001-2003, and again from 2006-2007. Her leadership in MGC will be memorialized with a donation of a book in her name to the Library of Michigan.

Marilyn will also be remembered at MGC's presentation of the 40th anniversary certificate to the St Clair County Family History Group at our Delegate meeting in Lansing on May 10, 2018.

She will be greatly missed by so many within MGC, and we are honored to have had her at the helm of our organization. We celebrate her many contributions and mourn her passing.

With heartfelt sympathy,
Katherine R. Willson
President, MGC

i have known Marilyn for several years in her capacity as President of the St. Clair County Family History Group. Marilyn was very committed to the club and anything to do with genealogy. Marilyn went above and beyond her duties, often taking on jobs when others left positions and no one would step forward. Marilyn was a very kind-hearted person, dedicated to the commitments she made. She will be fondly remembered.
